Ear Lobe Repair :

This is a quick surgical procedure to close the tear in the ear lobe and restore it to the original look. Ear lobe holes enlarge or tear due to constant use of heavy earrings or due to trauma.

This simple surgery is performed under local anesthesia. The tear or stretched piercing hole is surgically removed and then the lobe is repaired with stitches. In nonsurgical ear lobe repair, edges of the split ear lobe is de-epithelialised using chemicals, radiofrequency or lasers. The cleft is then occluded with a dressing till the wound is fully healed. Major disadvantage of the technique is the scar formed following correction is weak and prone for recurrences. The ear lobe can be re-pierced after 6 months.
